been waiting 4 days for the wind to take a rest so that I can stretch the plastic over my hoophouse.  Still waiting!  This is the second winter I’m gardening.  I have cilantro, spinach, lettuces, chard, carrot, endive, cabbage, and some radishes all in this 9 by 9 plot for overwintering.  I thought I would build wind tunnels for my side yard garden, but I don’t see that happening this year.  I’ll probably just bury some of the crops with leaves for extra protection.  Turnips, chard, endive, carrots, potatoes, peas, pak choy, radish, and lettuces continue to be harvested from my main plots.  What I don’t pull over the winter I will let flower for seeds in the spring.   The hoophouse is a great spot to sit during the cold months, it gets surprisingly warm inside on sunny days…a wonderful place for a cup of coffee and time alone.
